Angie brings close to 20 years of experience in biotechnology marketing and brand management, holding positions at Beckman Coulter, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Life Technologies, Invitrogen, Applied Biosystems and MWG Biotech. Previously, she held roles in market development, product management, technical sales and field applications. She has a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Irvine.
Event Experience Director
Katie is the Marketing Specialist in Mitchell International’s Pharmacy Solutions division. In this role, she focuses on B2B marketing initiatives, including content marketing, where she writes articles, produces podcasts and designs collateral materials. She has a degree in marketing from the University of San Diego. As the Art of Marketing’s Event Experience Director, Katie leads a skilled team of industry experts and is excited for a successful event.
Heidi is a veteran creative with high EQ and a designer at heart who builds a brand’s story by first listening, then by learning, then by doing. From print and agency work, to boutique design studio, to corporate culture; from startup to CEO; she will challenge convention and develop solutions that earn results.
Alex is a promotional products salesperson and has been in marketing since before graduation from CSU Chico. A San Diego native, she has been heavily involved in multiple AMA chapters, taking leadership roles every time, including president of the Orange County chapter. Alex takes special pride in being a natural-born storyteller, with a passion for history and the way history plays into our everyday stories.
Barbara Haines has been the Administrative Coordinator for AMA San Diego for 12 years and has 20+ years working with a cross section of marketing, nonprofit, and business communities. She is strategic in developing connections and cultivating mutually beneficial relationships between individuals, companies and organizations. She has been involved with the Art of Marketing conference since its inception.
Brianna Phares Jackson
Brianna is a marketing and product driven professional working in the B2B and B2C space. She has managed hundreds of SKUs from product research to launching live in store and is excited to work with AMA at a local level in San Diego at the Art of Marketing Conference.
Speaker Relations Manager
Carina is a Marketing Manager who leads the development of product marketing strategies, including consumer target, positioning and media mix, to help achieve brand and category vision and goals. She is excited to be part of the Art of Marketing conference for the second time.
Bill is a digital marketer, team leader and problem solver. His digital work has focused on organic search acquisition & online lead generation, paid search & paid social, content marketing, retargeting and conversion rate optimization. He has been involved with AMA San Diego for four years formerly as VP Content, host of the chapter’s “This Week in Marketing” podcast and author of its Digital Marketing Glossary of Terms.
Social Media Marketing Manager
Charlie is a former Marine (Marketing and Public Affairs) who earned a Psychology degree and worked with vulnerable children, research animals, and protein purification before returning to school to earn an MBA with a marketing focus. And he loves to talk, so feel free to say, “Hi!”
Cindy is a skilled strategist, leader and collaborator. She has proven talent in marketing, media and research, with experience working with all forms of media from digital, search, social and traditional channels as well as email and SEO. She is excited to support the AMA and specifically the Art of Marketing 2019.
Programming Content Manager
Cory recently graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Marketing and was heavily involved with the day to day operations of SDSU’s American Marketing Association chapter. He is currently the Business Development and Marketing Coordinator for a local nonprofit and is thrilled to be volunteering with the 2019 Art of Marketing Conference!
Day-of Volunteers Coordination Manager
Emily is a marketing communications leader and strategic problem-solver who believes that a flexible balance of creativity, attention to detail and data-driven logic is key in delivering effective marketing strategies. She has overseen marketing and events in a wide range of industries including audio visual, spa and wellness, solar power, organic beauty, sustainability, and real estate, and is poised to master the nuances of new industries.
Day-of Stage Manager
Hillary is a strategic marketer and corporate communicator who thrives on turning complex topics into compelling stories. She has deep experience in developing brands, writing marketing plans, running integrated campaigns and developing collateral, primarily in the non-profit, health care and technology industries. She is excited to don a headset and manage the stage at Art of Marketing 2019.
Hunter recently graduated from the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communications with a B.A. in advertising. He is currently trying to break into the industry and is thankful for this amazing opportunity.
Ruff Haus founder, Jonni Bailey, has spent over 21 years building brands and guiding companies. She has worked with many clients in categories from education and fundraising to travel, alternative energy, sports, and healthcare. From her current office in Little Italy Jonni leads companies in bringing their unique brand stories to life. She brings a blend of passion, common sense, and ingenuity to every project.
Integrated Marketing Strategist
Maria is a bilingual marketing manager with experience managing and leading projects across all marketing areas. From video production and website design, to content creation and print campaigns, she’s done it all! She’s also an “online shopping expert” which has led her to be fascinated by internet marketing and branding.
VIP Reception Manager
Melissa is the Marketing Manager for NCEPT Physical Therapy. She is also the Owner & Founder of Elevate Business Solutions, a digital marketing business specializing in social media and event planning. This is her first year living in San Diego and she is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Art of Marketing volunteer team.
Attendee Experience Manager
Rachel is a San Diego based writer, social media strategist, and Slow Food advocate. Working for the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UCSD, she is inspired by cutting-edge solutions for transforming the global food community, including her role as the Communications Chair for Slow Food Urban San Diego. She is thrilled to bring her event expertise and creativity to the 2019 Art of Marketing conference.
Web Content Manager
Samantha is a creative digital marketing and communications professional with 6+ years of experience in content creation for a variety of audiences. She has been an AMA San Diego volunteer for five years, helping with email marketing, programming, and volunteer engagement.
